polyethylene glycol (PEG) storage
polyethylene glycol is chemically stable in the air and in solution, but its molecular weight is lower than 2000 and it is easy to absorb moisture. Not suitable for microbial growth, also not easy to rancidity.
Polyethylene glycol and its aqueous solution can be sterilized by autoclaving, filter sterilization or & gamma; radiation. If the solid state is sterilized by dry heat at 150 ℃ for 1 hour, oxidation and degradation can be induced.
Should be kept in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. Liquid grade polyethylene glycol can be stored in stainless steel, aluminum and glass containers.
