Thermocouple for Furnace Temperature Control

Thermocouple As a temperature detection element, it is usually matched with a display instrument to directly measure the temperature of fluid, steam and gas media and metal surfaces in various production processes. It can also send its millivolt signal to inspection devices, temperature transmitters, automatic regulators and computers.

Thermocouple is composed of a pair of electrical conductors (thermocouple) of different materials, one end (end, measuring end) of which is connected to each other and feels the measured temperature; The other end (cold end, reference end) is connected to the measuring device. According to the thermoelectric effect, the difference between the temperature of the measuring end and the reference end and the thermal electromotive force generated by the thermocouple increase with the temperature of the measuring end, and its value is only related to the thermocouple material and the temperature difference between the two ends, and has nothing to do with the length and diameter of the thermocouple.

The structure of the thermocouple has thermocouple elements, protective sleeve, installation fixtures, junction boxes and other components.

In order to improve the measurement accuracy and reduce the measurement error, in the use of thermocouples, in addition to regular proofreading, the following issues should be paid special attention to during installation:

(1) When installing thermocouples, pay attention to checking the furnace wall near the measuring point and the installation holes of thermocouple elements must be tight to prevent air leakage. The measuring point should not be arranged at the dead corner of the furnace or flue.

(2) When measuring the fluid temperature, the thermocouple should be inserted to the place where the flow rate is the largest.

(3) The conduction loss of heat along the hot electrode and protective tube should be avoided or minimized.
