  The cooling curves of different masses (weights) and sizes in quenching tank are shown in the figure. It can be seen from the figure that the larger the size of the workpiece, the heavier the mass, and the slower the cooling (higher the temperature) at different sizes from the surface. For example, the temperature at 12.5mn from the surface and the cooling time is 2min:(a) about 580℉;(B) about 620℉;(c) about 820 & deg;F(14mm);(d) about 800℉(24mm);(e) about 1160 °F (28.5mm);(f) about 1200 °F.
