Isothermal quenching includes graded strain fire Marguenching. According to the knowledge of isothermal transformation curve of steel, austenitized workpiece is quenched into a hot bath with a certain temperature below pearlite transformation temperature for a sufficient time to obtain fine pearlite, bainite and martensite structures, and then the workpiece is taken out and cooled in air or a tempering process is added, according to the different mechanical properties required by the workpiece (the organization obtained by isothermal strain fire is not necessarily martensite, which is different from other quenching methods), the choice of isothermal temperature is respectively in the high temperature area, medium temperature area and low temperature area of C ~ C curve. Due to the different isothermal temperature, the obtained organization state is also different, so strictly speaking, isothermal quenching should be classified according to the microstructure after isothermal treatment. (Note: The explanation of isothermal strain fire in some textbooks is limited to bainite austempering Banic Hardenng)
