Quenching tanks are the most commonly used immersion quenching equipment. With quenching tank quenching, the workpiece is directly immersed in the quenching medium. The medium can be water, oil, aqueous polymer (e. g., PAG), salt, aqueous base, molten salt, etc. The quenching tank shall be equipped with stirring device, scale removal device, workpiece conveying device, safety and fire prevention device, ventilation and environmental protection device, etc. as required.

quenching tank shall be designed on the premise of considering the data such as maximum quenching amount or quenching weight per unit time, workpiece size, workpiece interface thickness, steel grade, required structure and mechanical properties. When designing, the following issues should be considered:
  (1) According to the characteristics of the workpiece, quenching method, quenching medium and the composition of the production line, determine the type and structure of the quenching tank; At the same time, according to the nature of the liquid used, consider the tank material selection or anti-corrosion measures to be taken.
  (2) Determine the volume of the quenching tank and the functions to be configured according to the data such as the maximum weight of the primary quenching, the maximum size of the quenched workpiece (including the fixture) and the quenching interval. Such as agitator, heat exchanger, storage tank configuration.
& nbsp; & nbsp;(3) The quenching area in the quenching tank should leave enough medium circulation space to make the quenched parts get good cooling.
  (4) Determine the stirring method and arrangement that drives the movement of the medium.
  (5) Determine the mechanical device for conveying the workpiece to complete the quenching process. For the quenching tank with conveyor belt conveying the workpiece, sufficient falling distance of the workpiece shall be reserved to avoid collision between the hot workpiece and the conveyor belt before cooling.
  (6) According to the requirements of the medium temperature, determine whether to configure the heater and heat exchanger, and configure it as required.
  (7) The quenching tank should be convenient for maintenance and cleaning. It is necessary to consider the convenience of cleaning the scale and workpiece falling off in the quenching tank during quenching, and to configure the filter if necessary. For quenching tanks that are easily mixed with water, a drain valve at the bottom of the quenching tank should also be considered.
  (8) Configure corresponding safety and environmental protection measures.
